Wish to acquire the skills to use the Internet and Email
Would like to learn how to use the Internet and Email for teaching and learning
Participants will be enabled to develop the knowledge and skills to use the Internet and Email effectively in teaching, learning, communication and research
This is a hands-on course: Participants will spend time locating and evaluating educational resources on the Web and carrying out practical work relevant to their own teaching and learning

Occupational First Aid

Certification (FETAC level 5) will be awarded to all trainees who attend this full 20hour course and reach the required standard set for this course.

The Outdoor Garden

Participants will be enabled to:

Develop and use exploration trails on the school grounds and vicinity.
Construct, maintain and utilise a garden in order to teach about the environment, sustainability and conservation in a practical way.
Identify plants and devise practical methods of learning about them.
Identify invertebrates of land and water and devise ways of learning about them using active learning.
To employ a sustainable approach in the day to day organisation of the school and to increase biodiversity on the school grounds.

Exploring our Environment and Culture

This course will focus on the curricular area of SESE, in particular the area of history.
It will also provide opportunities for teachers to integrate history with other subjects such as Visual Arts, English and Dance.

Explore and take part in Sean-nós Dancing.

The Role of Gaelic Games in the Curriculum: A Beginners Approach

Introduction of a Modern Language to the Primary School Classroom

The aim of this course is:
To familiarise teachers with the Modern Languages in Primary School Initiative (2001) currently in operation.
To provide teachers with professional and academic opportunities through which they can deliver and develop a modern foreign language programme in their classroom.
Familiarise teachers with an existing modern language framework that may be implemented with the Irish Curriculum.
Participants will examine sample lessons and resources from a group of both specialist and non-specialist teachers.
Participants will work in groups on a topic using chosen target language producing resources and worksheets required to deliver a themed MLFlesson.
